Le 22 novembre 2008, Ranger, mon 2e chien d'arrêt,
devenait officiellement un Grouse Dog après avoir fait
un de ses plus beaux arrêts sur une gélinotte huppée.
Il était à sa 4e saison et à sa 59e sortie de chasse
y compris l'année où il était chiot.

Avec Celtick, mon premier chien d'arrêt, j'étais un peu
trop sévère. C'est le 24 novembre 2002 que j'avais dit
de Celtick « tu es officiellement devenu mon premier
Grouse Dog ». Il était à sa 5e saison et à sa 71e
sortie de chasse y compris l'année où il était chiot.

Un chien de chasse ne naît pas « Grouse Dog »,
il mérite le titre au fil des sorties aux bois.

On November 22nd 2008, Ranger my second pointing dog
became officially a Grouse Dog after doing one of his most
beautiful pointings on the ruffed grouse. He was at his 4th
season and his 59th hunting trip including the year when
he was a puppy.

With Celtick, my first hunting dog, I was a little bit
more strict. It is on November 24th 2002 that I said
to Celtick « you have officially become my first
Grouse Dog ». He was at his 5th season and his 71st
hunting trip including the year when he was a puppy.

A hunting dog is not born a « Grouse Dog »,
he earns the title during the numerous trips in the woods.
